Mattie Kelly Festival of the Arts

It is time to celebrate art with the Mattie Kelly Festival of the Arts. The event lasts for two days and is accessible to the public. It is a big celebration of art, food, and family. Over 100 premier artists’ artwork is out for display from all across the United States. What should you expect at the festival? There are live art demos, live music, many activities for the kids, food trucks, street performers, and much more. The festival is great to bring your family and friends to see all the artwork. On the second day, the awards go out to the winners. The Festival of the Arts’s mission is to continue to inspire every person through the world of art. 

McGuire’s of Destin Halloween Run

McGuire’s Irish Pub is best known for its spectacular food. In October, they host the McGuire’s of Destin Halloween Run, which takes place in the morning to start off the day. You can either choose between the 5K Run/Walk or attempt the 10K Run. The race starts around 9 am and you can enjoy a complimentary pre-race breakfast. After the race, make sure to attend the post race party. The party will have live entertainment, Irish fare, Irish wakes, and some ale! There are about over 100 awards and prizes given out to people. Since this is a Halloween run, it is only suitable for there to be a Halloween costume contest. You are also more than welcome to run in your costume to show your spirit for the celebration. The whole family can participate, and it is all about having a fun time! 

Spooktacular Nights Spook Street

Spooky events can actually be really family-friendly. An event that the whole family is going to feel Halloween feelings is the Spooktacular Nights Spook Street. The event takes place at HarborWalk Village, here, the whole family can come out for the kids crafts and to go trick or treating down the harbor. There is a spooky scavenger hunt for everyone to participate in. Make sure to have your best Halloween costume for the costume contest. After, have your dancing shoes on and join the dance party. After your family tries all the activities, your night will end with a fireworks show over the Destin Harbor. Now this is a spooky night, and the entire family will have a blast.  

Baytowne Wharf Beer Festival

Baytowne Wharf is known for all the festivals it hosts. One that is popular during October is the Baytowne Wharf Beer Festival. There, you can try all kinds of American specialty beers nationwide. The main event features over 200 domestic and international craft beers you are welcome to taste. At the event, there is a brewery representative, so if you have a favorite, then it is the perfect time to talk to them about the beer. You can also try some food from the food showcase with unique light bites. They have booths that show which foods and beers pair well together. The Market Shops 9th Annual Bloody Mary Festival

Another festival to check out in October is The Market Shops 9th Annual Bloody Mary Festival. For anyone who does not know, Bloody Mary is a type of alcoholic beverage that many people enjoy. The festival features different ways this iconic drink can be infused into drinks, food, and many different preparations. You will try flavors of the drink in types of food that you would probably typically not. With a purchase to the event, you get unlimited brunch beverages. The activities besides eating and drinking consist of shopping, a photo booth, live music, and live streaming of football games all day long. Rocktober Concert Series

It’s time to rock and roll this October. Head to the Rocktober Concert Series, which takes place at HarborWalk Village. The event features live music by a variety of bands, which you and the family can enjoy. You can grab some food and take a seat while listening to the bands play. There are also beverage samples that you can try. The event is for two hours, ending off the night with fireworks. These fireworks will light up over the Destin Harbor.
